(Palin invented the word “refudiate” in a July Twitter post attacking the proposed Islamic cultural center and mosque near Ground Zero — its appearance is one of several jabs at Palin in the LCV campaign.)
Climate legislation collapsed in the Senate this year, and LCV and other environmental groups are now fighting Capitol Hill efforts to strip EPA’s power to regulate greenhouse gases under its existing powers.

“The November elections are just six weeks away. If candidates like these are allowed to replace climate champions in November, we will feel more than just the loss of a few elected officials,” said LCV President Gene Karpinski in a prepared statement. “We will lose out on a clean energy future that creates jobs, increases our national security and protects the planet for future generations.”
