Meanwhile, lawmakers will continue examining Obama’s budget blueprint during a spate of other hearings.
The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee is holding a hearing on the U.S. Forest Service budget Wednesday, while a Senate Commerce Committee panel is examining the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) budget Thursday.
In the House on Wednesday, an Appropriations Committee panel is holding a hearing on the Bureau of Land Management’s budget; a Natural Resources Committee panel is holding a hearing on the Office of Surface Mining budget, and the Science Committee is looking at the budget for the Environmental Protection Agency and NOAA.
On Thursday, a subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee will host Nuclear Regulatory Commission Chairman Gregory Jaczko to examine the agency’s budget. Also on Thursday, the panel will look at the budgets of Interior’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) and the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE).
Off Capitol Hill, former Sen. John Warner (R-Va.) will participate in a discussion on biofuels Thursday hosted by the Pew Project on National Security, Energy and Climate.
