Hubbard has a history of work on labor and human rights policy. From the bio the Sierra Club circulated Friday:


At Sarah Lawrence College, Hubbard held the Joanne Woodward Chair in Public Policy and founded the Institute for Policy Alternatives, which organized and advocated for the human rights of immigrant workers and Katrina survivors. Hubbard is the longtime Chair of the National Lawyers Guild Labor and Employment Committee, where he has organized and led solidarity work for labor and human rights worldwide.
