Former congressional aides to lobby for oil refining firm

Seven lobbyists from Crossroads Strategies will represent the Dallas-based company in Washington, D.C.

Among them are: Crossroads Strategies CEO John Green, who was former Sen. Trent Lott’s (R-Miss.) deputy chief of staff; senior partner Todd Weiss, an ex-aide to former Republican Sens. Tim Hutchinson (Ark.) and Rick Santorum (Pa.); chairman Stewart Hall, a former legislative director for Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.); and executive vice president Hunter Moorhead, a former aide for Sen. HollyFrontier has five refineries — one each in Oklahoma, Kansas, Wyoming, New Mexico and Utah. They combine for a crude oil capacity of 443,000 barrels per year.

The firm spent $50,000 on lobbying in the first quarter of this year, and $30,000 for all of 2012.
