“We are also going to be meeting with some members of the House,” Shaheen said. “We hope to find a way forward that will not just include the Senate but how to get something through the House.”

The Senate bill, despite bipartisan support, has stalled.

The two parties have thus far failed to reach an agreement on amendments and the bill has become ensnared in battles over ObamaCare and other topics.

The bill contains measures to encourage stronger building codes, train workers in energy efficient building technologies, help manufacturers become more efficient, and bolster the efficiency of federal buildings, among other provisions.
