Justice announces biggest environmental clean-up settlement ever

About $1 billion will be put in a Superfund account managed by the Environmental Protection Agency to pay for clean-up. The Departments of Interior and Agriculture will also receive money to pay for natural resource restoration, according to a news release.

The states with polluted sites are Arizona, Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah and Washington.
