Grassley to Obama: Look at college executive salaries

In his Thursday statement, Grassley also questioned the severance package given to NYU’s president, and plugged legislation that would give families a better sense of college costs.

“The more students and parents become savvy shoppers, the more colleges would be forced to rein in rising costs to compete for students,” the senator said.

Obama announced plans on Wednesday to create a new college ranking system at the Education Department, and to tie federal aid to the rankings.
