Partisanship dominates Ways and Means debate

It's been 8 months since the Ways and Means Committee has marked up legislation. Back then, the subject was health reform and the debate was divided along party lines. Today, the subject is job creation. And while every member agrees that jobs are needed, there appears to be partisan differences over the best way to create those jobs. Republicans have offered at least 10 amendments and so far there is little to suggest that the Democratic majority will accept any of them. Time will tell, however. Votes on the amendments as well as final passage on the bill are expected to occur at 3:15pm.
