Attorneys general sue federal government over health care reform

Within minutes of President Barack Obama signing the health care reform bill into law, 13 attorneys general -- 12 Republicans and one Democrat -- sued the federal government, calling the legislation unconstitutional.

The lawsuit, which legal experts are saying has little chance of being successful because federal law trumps state law, was filed Tuesday in Pensacola, Fla.

Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum is leading the effort and is joined by attorneys general from South Carolina, Nebraska, Texas, Michigan, Utah, Pennsylvania, Alabama, South Dakota, Idaho, Washington, Colorado and Louisiana. The only Democrat is James Caldwell of Louisiana.
