President Obama on Wednesday will meet with Democratic and Republican lawmakers to discuss financial reform.
The White House has not released a list of who will attend the meeting.
Congress is scheduled to return next week and passing a financial reform bill is at the top of the to-do list for Democratic lawmakers.
Reform legislation authored by Senate Banking Chairman Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) is expected to come up for debate later this month.
Dodd's bill creates a consumer protection watchdog and seeks to make the derivative market more transparent, among other things.
