The Senate Budget Committee will start marking up its budget resolution Wednesday.
The committee has scheduled sessions to mark-up the yet-to-be released resolution for Wednesday at 2:15 p.m. and Thursday at 10 a.m.
The House Budget Committee has yet to schedule a markup session.
The budget resolution sets discretionary spending caps for the coming fiscal year, lays out the majority's fiscal policies for future years and often includes language allowing the use of the reconciliation procedure to ease legislation through the Senate by a simple majority vote.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) had said earlier this month it would be difficult to get a budget resolution through the House because it's an election year and because of projections of large deficits in coming years. But Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has since said the plan is to move a budget resolution to the House floor for a vote.
