CFTC chief happy in current job

Gary Gensler, the chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, said Tuesday that he would stay on in his current position “as long as President Obama will have me.”

Gensler told a conference of business executives sponsored by The Wall Street Journal that he was “honored to be in this job” and that much work still needed to be done when it comes to regulating the derivatives market.

The CFTC recently announced it was giving itself more time to implement derivatives rules contained in the Dodd-Frank Wall Street reform bill.
