News bites: Shortage of primary-care doctors examined

The Obama administration is planning an undercover effort to assess the shortage of primary-care doctors, The New York Times reports.

And the Los Angeles Times looks at ways to increase access to primary care.

Iowa regulators have reached a compromise with health insurers on child-only plans, the Des Moines Register says. Many insurers quit offering child-only plans last year.

The New York Times also has a broader look at the abortion restrictions that states are passing, several of which ban the procedure after the 20th week of pregnancy.
