Poll: Most voters support banning abortion after 20 weeks

Although voters might support a ban on late-term abortions, most of those surveyed in the Post/ABC poll rejected measures that make it harder for abortion clinics to operate — an approach many states have adopted.

Fifty-four percent of those surveyed said they oppose state laws that restrict abortion clinics, compared with 45 percent who support such laws.

Overall, 55 percent of those polled said abortion should remain legal in all or most cases, compared with 41 percent who said it should be illegal in most circumstances.
