Israel, Hamas agree to 5-hour cease-fire

Israel and Hamas agreed to a five-hour United Nations brokered "humanitarian" pause Wednesday in order to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza.

In a statement Wednesday, the Israeli military said it would hold its fire for five hours starting at 10:00 a.m. local time on Thursday under a plan to allow Palestinians to restock food, water and other necessities, The Associated Press reported.

Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said Gaza militants decided to respect the pause and would refrain from firing rockets during that time.
