Western intelligence officials say Iran's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has personally ordered the elite Quds Force to attack Western targets in retaliation for the West's efforts to overthrow Iranian ally Bashar Assad of Syria, reports The Telegraph.

The Obama administration is hamstrung in Syria because any intervention could make the situation worse, writes The New York Times.
