The high-level political uncertainty mirrors the chaos in Egypt's streets, as violent clashes between Muslim Brotherhood supporters of Morsi and the military, police, and mostly secular Morsi opponents continue. Reports said most of the Muslim Brotherhood's leadership have been arrested following Morsi's ouster.
Multiple reports said ElBaradei was to be named prime minister on Saturday, but Egyptian leaders walked back that statement late Saturday night.
ElBaradei canceled a scheduled appearance on NBC's Meet The Press, claiming sickness, on Sunday.
