South Korean ambassador touts net-neutrality policies

Han Duk-soo, the ambassador from South Korea, said in a speech on Tuesday that net-neutrality protections constitute a critical policy for the wireless and wireline broadband landscape.

"I recognize that different stakeholders have different opinions about net neutrality, but it is important to recognize the issue from the perspective of the entire broadband ecosystem," he said.

Such policies can encourage competition, protect consumers and foster a growth in services and applications, he said.

South Korea has faster average broadband speeds and wider adoption rates than the United States.
