Hutchison pans net-neutrality proposal

Echoing the statements of House Republicans, Senate Commerce ranking member Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (Texas) urged the FCC on Wednesday to drop its net neutrality efforts.

She said if the FCC moves forward, she will explore "all options available" to keep it from implementing the regulations.

Her statement came an hour before FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski will detail his net-neutrailty plans in a speech at the FCC.

“I am especially troubled that this action would occur without Congressional input and before the new members of Congress have been sworn in," she said, adding that voters "repudiated this type of government expansion on Nov. 2."
