FBI arrests 14 in connection with PayPal attacks

The defendants are charged with various counts of conspiracy and hacking; they range in age from 20 to 42, with one individual's name withheld by the court. Each count of intentional damage to a protected computer carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. 

The FBI also executed more than 35 search warrants as part of the ongoing probe into the attacks on Tuesday. To date, more than 75 searches have taken place in the U.S. as part of the investigation. 

Police in the United Kingdom arrested one person Tuesday in connection with the case, while Dutch police arrested four.
