The group launched a Twitter campaign and an online petition to pressure Google to pull the app. The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) also urged Google to take the app down, saying "homophobia is never humorous or harmless."
A Google spokeswoman confirmed that the app was removed because it violated the company's policies.
AllOut.org celebrated the victory of their campaign against the app.
"We are pleased that Google developers have heard the voice of the LGBT community and pulled the app," Andre Banks, co-founder of AllOut.org, said. "Apps such as these are outrageous and only serve to further negative stereotypes and homophobia.”
The app's developer did not immediately respond to a request to comment.
