FTC chairman to talk online privacy

Jonathan Mayer of the Stanford Security Lab will present a paper arguing the online tracking is not anonymous as Web firms often claim it is. Also appearing will be Christian Fjeld, senior counsel for the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation.

The discussion is sponsored by the ACLU, Center for Digital Democracy, Consumer Action, Consumer Federation of America, Consumers Union, Consumer Watchdog, Electronic Privacy Information Center, Privacy Rights Clearinghouse, US PIRG and World Privacy Forum.
