Feds arrest Anonymous hackers with help of informant

The individuals were leaders of Anonymous and its offshoot groups, “LulzSec” and “AntiSec,” according to prosecutors.

They are charged with hacking Fox Broadcasting Company, Sony Pictures Entertainment and the Public Broadcasting Service.

They allegedly attacked PBS over an episode of “Frontline” that contained unflattering coverage of Anonymous.

O’Cearrbhail is charged with listening in on a conference call between the FBI and other law enforcement agencies about their investigation of Anonymous in January. O’Cearrbhail then allegedly uploaded the conference call onto YouTube.  

Hammond is accused of hacking security firm Stratfor and releasing its internal documents through WikiLeaks last month. Prosecutors said he and his co-conspirators stole 60,000 credit card numbers and made more than $700,000 in unauthorized charges.
