Pozen to join Skadden's antitrust group

Pozen joined DOJ in 2009 and was named the acting assistant attorney general of the department's antitrust division in 2011. Prior to DOJ, Pozen served as the director of Hogan & Hartson LLP's antitrust practice.

She also held a series of roles at the Federal Trade Commission, serving as a staff attorney in the merger litigation division and as an attorney adviser to former FTC Commissioner Christine Varney. Pozen later succeeded Varney when she left her role as chief of the Justice Department's antitrust division to join Cravath, Swaine & Moore.

President Obama nominated William Baer, an attorney at Arnold and Porter LLP, to head DOJ's antitrust division in February, but the nomination is still awaiting confirmation from the Senate.
