Google looks to make voting easier with new online tool

Google unveiled an online tool on Tuesday that helps users register to vote.

The site, created in partnership with a service called TurboVote, provides information about the laws and deadlines in each state. Users can download registration forms and get more information from state websites.

Google also provides guides to help military and overseas voters register to vote.

"As we approach the final days of the election, we’ll continue to develop useful ways for voters and campaigns to engage one another around the important issues in 2012," Eric Hysen, head of Google's Politics & Elections Team, wrote in a blog post.

Google also has a site that organizes the latest election news from a variety of media outlets. A separate election hub features political YouTube videos.
