AT&T says it is looking for ways to take some traffic pressure off its network, but it has not decided to move toward a usage-based pricing plan.
And "Operation Chokehold"--the plot organized by Fake Steve Jobs intended to clog AT&T's network on Friday--doesn't appear to have made much a dent in the carrier's service. AT&T said it saw "no impact" on its networks.
AT&T Mobility CEO Ralph de la Vega told the Wall Street Journal, "We have not made any decision to implement tiered pricing."
In efforts to lessen the wireless network's traffic load, the carrier is looking into making more Wi-Fi hotspots available for customers and using femtocell technologies to use home Internet connections for cellphone use.
