Earlier this week I posted a video from Google about why it supports net neutrality.
Here's a video from Verizon on the other side of the debate, courtesy of NextGenWeb.org. David Young, Verizon's vice president of regulatory affairs, talks about why network management is needed to provide reliable service to customers.
While Verizon and Google filed joint comments with the FCC on net neutrality to show they'd found "common ground," they don't agree on everything.
They agreed on generic phrases like "providing users with information" and "encouraging investment and innovation" in broadband networks. But they are still at odds over whether net neutrality regulations should exist at all. Verizon says Google has every incentive to "lock in place through regulation advantages they have established for themselves based on today's predominant business models."
