TSA tells travelers to check seasonal clothing for knives, guns

"Truth is, we’d rather you keep your guns, knives, and ammunition — just keep them at home, that’s all," the blog continued. "So be sure to take the time to do a quick check of your personal items to be sure you’re not forgetting about the weapon you tucked away during your last trip."

The reminder post was not written by TSA's usual blogger, Bob Burns. Instead, it was written by TSA New York/New Jersey spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein.

Two of the Halloween incidents — a passenger carrying eight rounds of ammunition and another one with a six-inch butterfly knife — happened at New York's LaGuardia and John F. Kennedy airports.
