'Occupy the highway' group to arrive in DC

Organizers noted that the supercommittee of lawmakers that was tasked with reducing the federal deficit was scheduled to vote on recommendations Wednesday, but that group announced Monday it failed to reach an agreement.

Still, they said it was important to conclude their joint protest.

"They have marched through the cold and rain every day, all day, enduring rain and freezing weather, bleeding blisters and aching bodies," Occupy the Highway said in a statement. "They literally put their bodies on the line to draw the connection between Wall Street and Washington."
