Airlines cancel 1,500 flights after snow storm

Airlines canceled 1,582 flights on Wednesday after a large storm dumped several inches of snow on major cities along the east coast, according to the website FlightAware.com.

The cancellations follow 2,352 flights that were canceled preemptively on Tuesday before the storm.

An additional 2,897 flights were delayed on Wednesday, according to the flight tracking website.

The leading airport for cancelations was New York’s LaGuardia Airport, which had 190 outgoing and 125 inbound flights canceled.
