Group plans Eastern Airlines revival

A group is planning to revive Eastern Airlines, CNN reports.

Eastern was once the most heavily traveled airline in the U.S., but the airline has not operated flights in the U.S. since 1991.

A group of investors purchased the Eastern Air name and logos during a bankruptcy proceeding in 2009, and is now seeking approval from the Federal Aviation Administration to use resume service, according to the report.

The company plans to operate charter flights initial, but it is also considering establishing passenger service.
