German strike cancels flights

Forty-one flights have been canceled after workers at the Frankfurt, Germany, airport went on strike on Friday, The Associated Press reports.

The airport workers are seeking to win a pay increase to a wage that would be the equivalent of $22 per hour, according to the report.

Talks between the union for the Frankfurt airport security workers and management stalled when officials at the airport refused to offer wages higher than $17 per hour, the AP said.

The next round of negotiations is not scheduled to take place until March 5.
