He added that the Transportation Department would continue to be vigilant about airline advertisements.
“We will continue to take enforcement action when our airline price advertising rules are violated,” LaHood said.
The airline industry has complained about the advertising requirement.
"Airlines will soon be the ONLY industry required to include taxes in advertised prices," the Washington, D.C.-based lobbying group for the industry, Airlines for America, said in a recent tweet.
DOT has penalized companies before for violating its new rules for passenger protections, including popular airplane ticket sales website Orbitz and Spirit Airlines.
