Second Northeast storm cancels nearly 2,400 flights

After being ravaged by Superstorm Sandy, which resulted in 19,000 flights being canceled last week, the Northeast was hit this week with a nor'easter that brought high winds and snow to the region.

Airlines responded by canceling 1,735 flights Wednesday and another 646 as of Thursday morning.

The cancellations come days after most major airports along the East Coast were shut down last week during and after Sandy. One, New York's LaGuardia Airport, sustained major flood damage to its runways.
