Boeing announces plans to build bigger ‘Dreamliner’ airplanes

“The airplane's operating economics are unmatched and it has all the incredible passenger-pleasing features that set the 787 family apart as truly special,” Conner said. “The 787-10 is 25 percent more efficient than airplanes of its size today and more than 10 percent better than anything being offered by the competition for the future."

Boeing said it has received 102 orders for its new version of the 787.

The company said the new model would fly routes as long as 7,000 nautical miles and hold between 300 and 330 passengers.

Current 787s hold about 290 passengers.
