"Since day one, the president has had one clear economic philosophy -- that the American economy works best when it grows from the middle-out, not the top down," the White House said in a statement announcing the trip. "The president will talk about the progress we've made together, the challenges that remain, and the path forward."
Foxx began his travel as Transportation secretary this week with trips
to New Haven, Conn., and Minneapolis.
His predecessor, Ray LaHood, claimed to have visited every state in the United States at least once during his four-and-a-half years in office.
