Spirit Airlines ad: ‘The Weiner rises again’

“Spirit gets two thumbs up for the latest presentation of ‘The Weiner Rises Again,’” the airline wrote to its passengers. “Celebrate with us by booking a vacation package to Cancun or Los Cabos and you'll get $24 off the flight portion of your trip when you travel from August 19, 2013 through November 21, 2013.”

Spirit Airlines has a history of referencing political events in its online advertising, famously offering a 9-9-9 sale named after former Republican presidential candidate's Herman Cain's ubiquitous tax plan and a “binder full of sales” after a comment from 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney about reviewing "binders full of women" for positions with his administration while he was governor of Massachusetts.
