Q Who are you wearing
Posted: 04/05/06 12:00 AM [ET]

Sen. John Warner (R-Va.): “You talking about the suit? They made it in Richmond, Va. I’ll give you the name of the old guy who sold it to me.”

Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska): “What? My suit? What? What? I don’t know what kind of suit this is. It was a gift from my wife. The damnedest questions you get as a senator. I was once asked what kind of shorts I wear.”

Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas): “Rickie Freeman. I really like her suits. I mostly shop Neiman [Marcus] and have been going there since I was a child. They have good service and good quality clothing.”

Sen. Sam Brownback (R-Kan.): “Austin Reed.” Where did he get it? “Dillards. I never know the answer to that question.”

Sen. Lincoln Chafee (R-R.I.): “J. Press. My brother-in-law recommended it when I got here to Washington.”

Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.): “Whatever was on sale at Marshalls or Boardroom.”

Rep. John McHugh (R-N.Y.): Last week, he was sporting an orange Salvatore Ferragamo tie and an Armani suit.

Sen. Mike Crapo (R-Idaho): The senator said his gray suit was Hart Schaffner Marx. Where did he get it? “I honestly don’t remember,” he said, adding that he’s had it for “a couple years.”

Sen. Craig Thomas (R-Wyo.): “I have no idea.” A look inside his lapel said “J.C. Penney.”

Sen. George Allen (R-Va.): “Hickey Freeman of Richmond, Va. Boy I’m glad I wore this suit today. I got these boots at Bootville in Ruckersville, Va.,” referring to his black cowboy boots.
