FAA streamlining training requirements for airport dispatchers

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is considering new rules for aircraft dispatcher certification courses, the agency said.

The new rules would standardize the training requirements for aircraft dispatchers, who plan flight paths.

The FAA has approved dozens aircraft dispatcher certification courses that are currently operating around the country, but with little oversight from the agency they have inconsistent training requirements.

The agency is looking to streamline the training aircraft dispatchers receive.

The FAA proposed the changes Tuesday in the Federal Register.
