A majority of major financial regulations stemming from the JOBS Act and the Dodd-Frank financial reform law are still outstanding. The SEC has also come under fire from Republican lawmakers for not moving JOBS Act rules along more quickly.
The division of corporation finance at the SEC helps companies comply with disclosure requirements and aims to keep investors informed. It also makes recommendations to the regulator about reviewing old rules or proposing new ones.
“He understands and appreciates the importance of our disclosure laws in helping to ensure that investors get the information they need to make informed investment decisions,” said SEC Chairwoman Mary Jo White.
