Tuesday's meeting announcements: Small business committee gets together

Dozens of federal advisory boards and council will announce their upcoming meetings in Tuesday's edition of the Federal Register. Here's a look:

The Small Business Administration’s advisory committee for small business development is holding meetings starting on Oct. 29 to give updates on the agency. The panel will also meet on Nov. 19 and Dec. 17.

On Oct. 31, a commission for radioactive waste in Appalachian states is holding its annual meeting in Harrisburg, Pa. 

Also on Oct. 31, the Federal Election Commission will meet to consider a draft advisory opinion and elect an officer. 

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is holding a meeting for all employees in Rockville, Md., on Oct. 31.

The U.S. International Trade Commission is voting on imports of steel concrete reinforcing bar from Mexico and Turkey on Nov. 1. 

An Interior Department committee on transparency in mining industries is holding a teleconference on the afternoon Nov. 4. The meeting was originally scheduled on Oct. 2, but was postponed due to the government shutdown.

On Nov. 5, the National Transportation Safety Board is meeting in Washington. 

A National Park Service advisory committee is holding a meeting at the Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve office in Fairbanks, Alaska, on Nov. 5 and 6. 

The Environmental Protection Agency is announcing that two meetings on chemical risk assessments that were delayed by the government shutdown earlier this month will be rescheduled. The peer review meetings will now be held on Nov. 8 and Dec. 13. 

On Nov. 14 and 15, the management council for New England fishing is meeting to discuss scallops and statistics in Providence, R.I. 

The Energy Department is holding a meeting on Nov. 15 in Washington to discuss a proposal on changes to the country’s rules for trading nuclear materials

Also on Nov. 15, a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention board on preventing injuries is holding a teleconference to discuss strategies and priorities for programs and research. 

A federal panel for observing the World War One centennial is meeting on Nov. 15 in Washington. 

On the afternoon of Nov. 18, the Treasury Department’s advisory committee formutual savings associations is meeting in Chicago, Ill. 

Also on Nov. 18, a Commerce Department advisory panel on climate assessment is meeting via conference call. 

The Bureau of Land Management’s resource advisory committee for the Boise, Idaho, district is meeting on Nov. 19. 

A federal subcommittee on reconstructing radiation doses is meeting via teleconference on Nov. 20. 

Also on Nov. 20, the Forest Service’s board for the Black Hills National Forest is meeting in Rapid City, S.D. 

On the afternoon of Nov. 22, the Defense Department’s advisory council for military family readiness is getting together at the Pentagon. 

On Dec. 4 and 5, the FBI’s advisory policy board for criminal justice information services is meeting in Atlanta, Ga.
