Thursday's meeting announcements: Health advisory committees meet

The Bureau of Land Management's advisory panel for the Twin Falls, Idaho, area is meeting in the town of Jerome on Sept. 16. The 15-member committee is tasked with developing advice on managing public lands in the state. 

On Sept. 30, a federal panel on stillbirth is holding a conference call to discuss a proposed concept review. 

The Defense Department’s commission on the structure of the Air Force is meeting in Bossier City, La., on Oct. 1 to hear testimony and tour the Barksdale Air Force Base. 

Also on Oct. 1, NASA’s advisory panel on planetary science is meeting to gather information for program planning. 

The Department of Health and Human Services advisory panel on protections in research on humans is meeting in Washington on Oct. 3 and 4. 

On Oct. 8 and 9, the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) advocacy panels for taxpayer assistance centers, tax forms and official notices will get together.

The IRS’s panels for its toll-free phone line and taxpayer communications are meeting on Oct. 15 and 17. On the 23rd, its joint taxpayer advocacy committee is holding an open session via teleconference. 

The board of scientific counselors at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s public health office is holding a meeting on Oct. 16 and 17 in Atlanta, Ga. 

The advisory committee for government workers’ travel is holding meetings on Nov. 7 and Dec. 10. 

On Nov. 15, a number of agencies are organizing a webcast to provide guidance on regulations affecting biological toxins and substances.
