A National Institutes of Health board on medical rehabilitation research is holding a meeting on the afternoon of Aug. 13 in Bethesda, Md. 

On Aug. 16, the Commission on Civil Rights is holding a meeting in Washington to review state advisory committee appointments and discuss a series of reports. 

The Pentagon’s Defense Health Board is meeting in Annapolis, Md., on August 19 and 20. 

The State Department’s coordinating committee for shipping is meeting in the Coast Guard’s headquarters on Aug. 27 to prepare for an upcoming international session on cargo and containers. 

On Aug. 29, the Education Department’s advisory panel for student financial assistance is holding a teleconference to elect a new chair and vice-chair. 

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) taxpayer advocacy panel for improving assistance centers and customer service is meeting on Sept. 10. 

The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights advisory committee for South Dakota is holding a planning meeting in Sept. 11 in the city of Sioux Falls. 

Also on Sept. 11, the IRS’s panels for correspondence and forms and publications will meet. 

A National Science Foundation committee for environmental research is also meeting on Sept. 11. 

An IRS panel on toll-free phone lines is holding a meeting on Sept. 17 to develop recommendations for the agency’s customer service. 

Another IRS panel, on taxpayer communications, is meeting on Sept. 19. 

The IRS’s joint taxpayer advocacy committee is holding a public meeting on Sept. 25. 

The Environmental Protection Agency’s advisory council on drinking water is meeting in Arlington, Va., on Oct. 9 and 10 to examine proposed changes to rules on lead and copper, among other issues. 

On Oct. 17, the Food and Drug Administration’s panel for anti-infective drugs is meeting in Silver Spring, Md.
