Wednesday's meeting announcements: Export-Import Bank board gets together

The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights panel for Illinois is meeting in Chicago on Sept. 23 to discuss how comprehensive immigration reform will affect immigrants in the state. 

On Sept. 23 and 24, the Air Force’s scientific advisory board is meeting in Arlington, Va., to receive briefings from Pentagon leadership and plan for 2014 studies. 

The Veterans Affairs Department’s advisory committee on geriatrics is meeting on Sept. 26 and 27 in Washington to discuss whether the department’s healthcare facilities and programs are meeting the needs of older veterans. 

From Oct. 1 to 3, a Federal Aviation Administration advisory committee on batteries and battery systems is meeting in Arlington, Va.

On Oct. 2 and 3, the Department of Energy’s advisory committee for electricity is holding an open meeting to discuss the modernization of the country’s electricity delivery infrastructure. 

The board of directors for Marine Corps University is meeting on Oct. 4 on the school’s campus in Quantico, Va. 

On Oct. 7, the Commerce Department is holding a meeting to discuss ways to bring next-generation broadband Internet access to virtually all students in the country. 

A Federal Aviation Administration committee on enhanced flight vision systems is meeting on Oct. 8-10. 

A Department of Veterans Affairs committee on rehabilitation is meeting on Oct. 15 and 16 in Washington. 

Environmental Protection Agency officials that focus on pesticides and environmental quality will meet on Oct. 21 and 22 in Arlington, Va., to discuss the chemicals and efforts to protect bees. 

The Food and Drug Administration is holding a workshop on clinical trial requirements on Nov. 6 and 7.
