Thursday's meeting announcements: First responders' board

On Monday, September 23, the Commerce Department’s board for the federal first responder communication network is holding a teleconference. 

On September 25, the Consumer Product Safety Commission will hold a meeting in Bethesda, Md., to discuss potential new regulations. 

The board of directors of the Export-Import Bank of the U.S. is meeting on September 27 to talk about a resolution for fiscal 2014. 

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Committee is holding a series of public meetings in October and November to discuss an upcoming proposal to change its rules on the environmental impact of spent nuclear fuel

The Federal Aviation Administration’s advisory committee for new regulations is meeting on October 2 in Arlington, Va. 

The National Council on Disability is holding its quarterly meeting in Topeka, Kan., on October 7 and 8. The council will talk about issues facing people with disabilities in rural America and initiatives underway in Kansas. 

Fishing regulators for the Mid-Atlantic will hold meetings in Philadelphia, Penn., from October 7 through 10. 

From October 7 through 11, the Federal Aviation Administration’s advisory panels on program management, global positioning systems  and audio systems and equipment will get together to talk about issues facing their sectors.

On October 8 and 9, the National Defense University’s board of visitors will meet on the school’s campus in Washington. 

A federal advisory board for community service is meeting on October 22 to discuss projects and operations. 

The Department of Homeland Security’s advisory committee for critical infrastructure is meeting in Washington on November 5. 

The Department of Education is setting up a committee to negotiate regulations on campus safety and security as called for by the 2013 Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act. The committee will include representatives from organizations with interests in the subject, and will meet beginning in January.
