The Hill newspaper is looking to add a digital content producer to its video team. The ideal candidate must be an energetic, web-savvy person with a passion for editing video and the desire to plunge into the world of fast-paced political, multimedia journalism.

- Work with videographers and fellow digital content producers to edit compelling multimedia packages.
- Create multiple breaking news video packages daily from originally shot footage or syndication sources like CNN, pool feeds, etc.
- Closely work with editorial team to pitch and execute original and unique video story ideas.
- Aggressively post video that is relevant to text stories across the website.
- Monitor web analytics to strategize plan to add a video element to trending stories.
- Write strong headlines and short text stories to accompany original video postings
- Shoot interviews and b-roll for video stories as needed.

- Ability to shoot and edit video accurately and efficiently on deadline.
- Proficiency in creating compelling text-on-screen presentations for video packages to ensure strong social sharing
- Ability to create multiple news videos quickly to take advantage of the breaking political news cycle
- Strong sense of styles that work in the mobile, social era of journalism
- Strong writing skills to accompany video stories.
- College degree required.
- 1-2 years journalism experience.

Reports To: Executive Vice President for Video

The ideal candidate will have an immediate impact on The Hill’s video team through his or her creativity, ability to execute strong video content and willingness to work in a team environment. The candidate must also be flexible, and should expect to work as needed on evenings or weekends.
