American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Council 238

Issue Papers for Second Session of 111th Congress

AFGE Council 238 is committed to ensuring that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is reestablished as the nation’s leader in
environmental education, research and science, and regains its place as the world leader in environmental protection.  To help accomplish this,
AFGE Council 238 has put together the following issue papers for the Second Session of the 111th Congress.  To rebuild EPA, we believe the
following issues need to be addressed: Budget – Particularly Adding More Staff; Equal Treatment of Federal Employees; Federal Career Intern
Program; First Amendment Rights; Labor-Management Relations; Completing the Restoration of EPA’s Libraries; and Principles of Professional and
Scientific Integrity.  AFGE Council 238 believes more has to be done in the area of labor-management relations if we are to see “Change We Can
Believe In.”   While AFGE Council 238 remains patient and committed, we hope to see change take place this year.
