The Future of the OTC Markets 
Summary: The global wholesale over the counter (“OTC”) markets are critical to the effectivefunctioning of the worldwide financial system. The vast majority of financial asset classesonly exist in the OTC environment and consequently the efficient functioning of thesemarkets is essential for the free flow and availability of capital, the mitigation of risk andinvestor choice. This paper assesses the current status of the trading, transactionprocessing and risk management infrastructure that supports the wholesale segment of theOTC markets and sets out some recommendations that we believe would improve thequality and robustness of this infrastructure.
