Neighborhood Series: Bethesda (November 2011)

A short Metro ride away from the heart of D.C.’s bustling downtown, Maryland’s urban communities are alive with the spirited festivals more commonly associated with suburbia.

Beyond the towers of downtown Bethesda and the massive department stores looming over Friendship Heights are smaller, more intimate boutiques and shops that offer almost anything you could hope to find. 

Friendship Heights will gain a brand-new dining experience in mid-December when Rosa Mexicano opens its latest location at 5225 Wisconsin Ave. NW. Michael Seznec, executive general manager of D.C.’s Penn Quarter location, is also involved in the new restaurant, and said management is excited about the new venture.

A place like this shouldn’t serve fried chicken and waffles.
