Carney: ‘Thursday was fine with us’

Responding to reporters’ questions Thursday about the scheduling of President Obamas jobs address, White House press secretary Jay Carney said, “Thursday was fine with us.”

Carney’s remarks came after Wednesday’s public back-and-forth between the administration and House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) over Obama’s proposal to address a joint session of Congress at the same time as a Republican presidential primary debate next Wednesday.

The White House said late Wednesday that it had accepted the Speakers offer to give the speech next Thursday.
